Not-for-Profit Service

In January of 2022, Beth White started as the President/CEO of the Indiana Coalition to End Sexual and Human Trafficking (ICESAHT). As the statewide coalition recognized by the US Department of Justice, ICESAHT provides a supportive network to survivors, service providers, and allies while promoting the expansion of services, advocating for change, and working on prevention. In a short time, White recruited all new staff, diversified funding streams, and expanded the Board.

Prior to this, beginning in March of 2016, she was the Executive Director of the Greater Indianapolis Progress Committee (GIPC), a not-for-profit membership organization that provides a non-partisan forum in which leaders of the public and private sectors of Indianapolis can work as partners to study, discuss and address issues of concern and areas of opportunity which affect the progress of the city. Under her leadership, GIPC increased member engagement, revenue, active programs, and grant support.

In response to the extraordinary events of 2020, Beth led GIPC’s newest initiative, the Race and the Legal Process Working Group, whose work was to combat racism and bias. The ongoing effort is studying changes to policing and police governance, as well as coordinating volunteer lawyers to address the needs of Black and other disadvantaged residents arising out of COVID-related economic hardships. Beth was also responsible for convening and coordinating the Race and Cultural Relations Leadership Network (the Network), a 27-year standing GIPC initiative. The Network was established to serve as a mechanism to foster positive relationships among diverse populations and to respond to racially and culturally charged issues in greater Indianapolis. In the time of her leadership, the Network expanded to include a more diverse membership and meeting attendance increased.
